Attractions
Wales has many castles to visit: in West Wales, Laugharne Castle (where Dylan Thomas wrote Portrait of the Artist as a Young Dog) was a medieval castle and later Tudor mansion. The royal fortress of Carmarthen Castle, where Prince Charles was invested as Prince of Wales is recognised as one the great buildings of the Middle Ages. The beautiful Gower peninsula, a short drive from Swansea, was even the UK’s first designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1956!
